Information: BIOGRAPHY: Harry T. Rice was born in Tarrant County, Fort Worth, Texas on November 9, 1949. He is the son of Laughlin Rice and Olive E. Rice. On December 27, 1968, he married Ann Whitley Montgomery. They have two children, Jeffery Rice and Jennifer Bardroff, and one grand daughter, Whitley Kathryn, age 10. He joined the Kentucky Army Nation Guard in May, 1969. In September, 1971, he was hired as an aircraft technician and retired 34 years later as an aircraft Mechanic supervisor. He has served with the Kentucky Army National Guard for over 38 years and plans to retire in 2009. Harry started his Masonic journey at Robert M. Circle Lodge #954 in Lexington, KY. He was raised as a Master Mason July 17, 1971. He became a Scottish Rite Mason May 19, 1973 and was created a Noble June 10, 1995. He has served as president of Capital City Shrine Club (1998); Director of Clubs and Units (1999); Commander of the Legion of Honor (2000); an associate Outer Guard (2001 & 2002); Entertainment Chairman (2003); and Circus Chairman (2005). He was elected Oriental Guide in 2004. Harry will serve as the 'first' Potentate of Oleika Shriners' second century. His motto "Dedicated to the Mission" reflects his dedication to the Shrine mission of serving our hospitals and Children. Harry's Shrine experience has been influenced by many superb and devoted Nobles, three of those being: Past Potentate Kenny Russell; Noble Wendell Meece; and Noble Laughlin Rice, Harry's father. All were Nobles of Oleika Temple.
